OFSTED - LETTER TO PARENTS FROM MRS GOULTHORPE (EXECUTIVE HEADTEACHER)

Dear Parents / Carers,

It is with enormous pleasure that I write to share the fantastic news that following the Ofsted visit at Belton All Saints C of E Primary School, our school has been rated ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted! This follows a two-day Ofsted inspection, which as you know took place in mid-September.

I am delighted that Ofsted has recognised all the excellent work going on here at Belton All Saints and what a ‘special place’ our school truly is.

During their visit the inspectors noted the monumental work that has been undertaken since the last Ofsted visit in November 2017. It is important to note that this new Ofsted inspection framework is much more challenging than previously in 2017.

In her feedback, the lead HMI, Sarah Gordon, clearly highlighted our continuous and relentless drive for improvement. The inspectors also commented extremely positively on our warm and caring ethos and how we are a strong community.

We could not have achieved this without your support and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you, your fantastic children and our dedicated staff for their hard work and commitment, which has helped to make Belton All Saints Primary School such an amazing place to learn, work and succeed.

The report highlights many key strengths of our school. Areas that make us very proud include:

  • Pupils at Belton All Saints C of E Primary feel safe and well cared for by the adults in school.
  • Leaders set high expectations for the behaviour of pupils. Pupils are polite and respectful to one another. There is a calm and purposeful atmosphere in classrooms. As a result, pupils can get on with their learning with very little distraction.
  • The school’s provision for the personal development of pupils is a strength.
  • Children thrive in the school’s Early Years provision.
  • The school has taken rapid action to improve the curriculum for pupils
  • Teachers ensure that all pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), are involved in reading challenging texts
  • Staff say that they are proud to work at Belton All Saints. Leaders care for staff and their well-being. Staff report high levels of support.
  • Teachers have good subject knowledge. As a result, they deliver lessons well.
  • Teachers put in place adaptations for pupils who need them. This ensures that pupils with SEND meet their targets while working alongside their peers in lessons.

I am extremely proud of everything that we have been able to achieve at our school and, with your help, as always, I look forward to the school continuing on its strong upward trajectory, as we work towards becoming an ‘Outstanding’ school.

As always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch.

With very best wishes

Mrs Goulthorpe (Executive Head teacher)
