Our School Mission Statement

All members of our school community aim to work in partnership to provide a happy and stimulating Christian environment where every child is valued and can achieve, flourish and experience success.

Our Values

We show reverence to God through our core values and love towards others based on the Christian Story and the teachings of Jesus.

We work to encourage and demonstrate our core values of:

Faith, Compassion, Forgiveness, Respect, Trust, Responsibility, Hope.

Our Aims

Everyone who works within our school aims to:-

  • Respect and celebrate the gifts and qualities that every individual brings to our school community.
  • Embrace the Christian distinctiveness of our school and our strong Church Links.
  • Develop a respect for our local and global environments, becoming active and responsible citizens for the future.
  • Empower pupils with the key learning skills, nurturing a desire for life long learning.
  • Deliver an enriched curriculum which is appropriately matched to pupils’ needs, offering both support and challenge.
  • Provide an environment that encourages, excites and supports all within it.
  • Develop opportunities so that parents can be active partners in their child’s school life.
  • Seek ways that we can improve our performance, both individually and collectively, across all aspects of school life.

British Values

In line with DfE expectations we are also looking at how, as a school, we help pupils develop the British Values as laid out in the Governments’ Prevent Strategy (2011). The British values are:

The rule of law,

Individual liberty

Mutual respect

Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs

As you can see there are many similarities between these and our core values. Staff and the school council will be looking at these this term to identify how we address these values and changes that may be needed to our policies or curriculum to ensure we fulfil them.

Our Mission Statement, Values and Aims were revised and reaffirmed following discussions with staff, pupils, parents and governors - January 2015
